Exotic image download for your print project! A seaside flirtation in the 1920s – exciting and powerful. A series of covers of rare beauty by Berlin graphic artist Ludwig Lutz Ehrenberger from the roaring twenties. He was known for his frivolous/erotic illustrations, in which women are often scantily clad. But he also always staged the women as strong personalities. Just like this motif.
The motif has been cleaned, retouched, imperfections removed and the color adjusted. The image quality is very good. Nevertheless, a note: this illustration is over 100 years old. We have not digitally alienated the motif. It still has and absolutely needs to have an authentic charm.
After purchase, the design can be used for your creative, personal print projects. Use is restricted to private use. You can find more information below in the “Download Dos and Don’ts” tab.
The motif is particularly effective when printed on uncoated paper without gloss. No or very little structure. The paper should be white, but not bright white. A very, very light beige shade of paper also suits this illustration.

Reigen – Sheets for gallant art and dance – fought for the recognition of eroticism as a cultural factor. The magazine was confiscated in some German cities in the 1920s. Here is an original text excerpt from the 1920 Reigen booklet: “Even in the future, the magazine will continue to cultivate, through words and images, verse and prose, that art which is the amiable expression of cheerful and uninhibited gallantry. Even in our serious times, the erotic has not lost its cultural significance, though it sometimes appears as if its flourishing period lies in veiled epochs. Perhaps the importance of the inner joy of life, rooted in the erotic, has even particularly increased in an era not overly rich in external pleasures.”
