This lovingly drawn fairy tale motif was created by Fernande Biegler around 1921. It depicts a key scene from the fairy tale “The Swineherd”: the prince, disguised as a simple swineherd, stands before the haughty princess and offers her one of his wondrous works of art. The princess, initially dismissive, is ultimately swayed by curiosity and the allure of the extraordinary.
Fernande Biegler was known for her expressive, detailed illustrations that captured the magic of old fairy tales in a special way.

Restoration & Quality
The motif was cleaned, retouched, imperfections removed and the colors adjusted. The image quality is good. Nevertheless, please note: this vintage illustration is over 100 years old. We have not digitally altered the motif. It still has an authentic charm.

Printing recommendation
The motif looks particularly beautiful on matte natural paper, white or slightly beige, with little or no texture. This brings out the fine details and nostalgic atmosphere beautifully.
